Caerdydd Statws

How do thee pigs,

Want to keep you all in the know about my time in Cardiff. As you might be able to tell from the subject, I'm trying to pick up a little Welsh. This might shock the hell out of you but it actually means "Cardiff Status". Difficult one to translate that eh?!

As you may know, I'm on placement, working in Port Talbot, South Wales. Who needs Chichen Itza and Tenotichlan, when I have the awe-tastic, eco-friendly, Blast Furnaces, Spectacularly named, "4" and "5". So James and Gemma, "NA-NA".
Enjoy you little forests... :p

Seriously though, the job is great, I'm working closely with some big wigs as my team is in its infancy. Got a call the other day from a Director in Holland called Floor Scheffer, asking me if I could change some work for him. He probably didn't appreciate me asking him who he was... (Too many bloody names to remember, I tell thee).

Outside of my hard labouring in the coal mills though...

I've moved in to a house in the middle of the student area of Cardiff. It's called Cathays (you have to pronounce the "th" as a "t" or the locals go off!) First week was boring as no one was in the house. Second week picked right up, when a partying nutter, not unlike myself, moved in. First time I lived with some motivated people, which is refreshing.

My housemate and I have been throwing parties every Friday night, which we hope will gain us the 'party house' reputation in time for all the freshers to move in to their halls, which is 30 seconds away! Speaking of young ladies... You've gotta love the Welsh. You've all welcome to come down on a weekend and stay in Cardiff. Every weekend there will be something going on, until my health fails, or I drown... On that note, hope everyone is handling the floods without any major incidents.

The web site is good Lynn, and I'm liking all this motivation regarding sponsorship. Hope you guys manage to find something; it'll be a treat to return to my own Trotters shirt! I've still not started my training here yet as my clutch decided to die, and like in Sheffield, training is miles away!

Anyway Barries! Hoorah, and keep in touch

Tra ta.
